Framelens

Framelens is a personal project born out of frustration with the modern internet. On Framelens you follow your favorite creators, sync their latest content, and read it in a single chronological list — no recommendations, no ads, no algorithmic rabbit holes.

Framelens is for folks tired of the high-sugar experience of the modern internet - if you know what you actually want, Framelens is for you.

How it works

• Add your subscriptions — search for channels and subscribe to their feeds. If a creator isn’t in the database yet, you can add them yourself.
• Sync content — pull the latest posts from all subscribed creators across every available platform.
• Filter by platform — show only what’s relevant to you at any given moment.

Stack

Built with Phoenix and Elixir on the backend, with LiveView handling the real-time UI. Styling via Tailwind CSS and DaisyUI.

Content is discovered from Youtube via RSS, synced automatically with Oban and cached internally with Elixir Agents for performance. Follower and creator information is persisted via PostgreSQL and everything is hosted in Fly.io.

What’s next

Planned work includes support for more platforms (Instagram, TikTok, podcasts, newsletters, blogs), better creator data management, smarter feed filtering, and public/shareable curated feeds.
